Safe Sitter Course
Give your child the skills and confidence they need to stay safe, handle emergencies, and be responsible when caring for younger children. Our Safe Sitter Course is a nationally recognized program designed to teach students in grades 6th and up how to be safe at home alone, with younger siblings, and while babysitting.
This fun, hands-on class is taught by certified instructors and includes interactive lessons, practice scenarios, and essential safety information every young sitter should know.
Participants Will Learn:
- Safety skills for staying home along or supervising younger children
- First aid and injury prevention
- How to recognize and respond to emergencies
- Basic CPR and choking rescue techniques
- Childcare essentials, including feeding, diapering, and behavior management
- How to run a safe and successful babysitting business
Who Can Attend:
Students in grades 6th and up
(No prior experience needed!)
What To Bring:
A water bottle, lunch and/or snack, and a positive attitude!
Each session will break for a 30 min lunch.

Safe Sitter graduates leave feeling empowered, capable, and confident. And parents feel better knowing their sitter has real training and practical safety skills. It's a great introduction to responsibility, leadership, and independence.
Session Information
We are offering 3 different Safe Sitter sessions. Each session is a 1-day course, from 9:00am until 3:30pm at The Ballpark in Old Orchard Beach. The price is $45.
The course will be offered on Monday, December 22nd, 2025, Saturday, January 10th, 2026, and Saturday, February 21st, 2026. Each session has a maximum of 8 seats, so be sure to register soon to ensure your spot!
