Spring Youth Track & Field Program
Get ready to run, jump, and have a blast! Our Seagulls Youth Track & Field Program is designed to introduce kids to the fundamentals of track & field in a fun, supportive, and encouraging environment. Whether your child is brand new to the sport or already loves to run, this program focuses on building confidence, developing basic skills, and teamwork while having a great time with friends!
Participants will learn age-appropriate techniques for running events, relays, and field activities, while also working on coordination, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Coaches emphasize personal growth & improvement over competition, helping every child feel successful and included.
Each practice session includes a mix of warm-ups, stretches, skill development, and team building games to keep kids engaged and moving.

Program Information
This is a 6-week program with practices twice a week. Practices begin the week of April 27th and end the week of June 5th. Practices will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00pm until 6:00pm at the Old Orchard Beach High School Track.
There will be 2-3 track meets planned with other local Recreation Departments during this 6-week program. Meets are on Fridays from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. Exact locations and dates of these meets is TBD and will be announced once the season starts.
Every child will receive an OOB Track & Field t-shirt to wear for track meets. Please make sure you select the proper size t-shirt for your child when you register.
All equipment will be provided by the OOB Recreation Department. Please send your child to track practice & meets with sneakers (no cleats), comfortable clothing, and a water bottle.

Track Meets
TRACK MEETS: We anticipate having 2-3 track meets throughout the season. At these meets, we will be competing against multiple communities at one location. Participants will have the opportunity to compete in any of the field and running events. Meets are generally on Fridays from approximately 4pm-7pm. We will have the meet schedule and directions at the first week of practice.
Equipment
EQUIPMENT NEEDED: Please bring a water bottle and comfortable clothing to every practices. Sneakers or closed toed shoes are highly recommended.
